Shot my first pig out of a trap when I was 5 with a .22....I say get him going
He is about to, will be plinking more cans again tomorrow. He's been deer & dove hunting with me several times, started taking him in the blind when he was two. Morning hunts were great (he was tired) but evening hunts were a disaster at that age.
Age 3 was better, but still tuff in the evenings sometimes when he was tired. I recommend starting at 3-4. I have two in high school that I started taking at age 2 & 3. My oldest son was OK but my daughter was a crab for a while. Guess I'm a slow learner
Hell I just love having them with me. Boys are easier, no doubt about it.
Hell my oldest were 3 and 5 and I put floaties on them and sat them on a styrofoam float tied off to my waste while wading for miles chasing fish. Soaked them down with sun block, hat on, juice pouches, snacks, good times.
They both caught their first redfish and trout sitting on that float. What sucks is that my oldest daughter doesn't remember it.
Oh well my son & I do.
