I use a decapper die before cleaning and resize and am wondering if I need the decapper pin in the fl die? I know that it has a expander ball but was thinking maybe remove a good length of the needle. Any problem with this?

Unscrew the expander and remove the pin, don't need it.

Shouldn't need it, but its not going to hurt if it's there.

Leaving it in assures the pin will clear the flash hole of tumbling media.

I use ss media and wet tumble, each case gets inspected after drying to remove any pins that get stick in flash hole and a good once over before sizing.

^^ This, but if you inspect them, that's the important part.
