I'm bringing my former college roommate over to go Turkey hunting with me. For an out-of-state hunter who intends to hunt Turkey/Hog for a weekend, is all they need:

- Non Resident Turkey $126
- Non Resident 5-Day Special Hunting $48

The 5 day covers
Legal for any period of 5 consecutive days (valid hunting dates will be printed on the license when issued). Valid to hunt:

exotic animals,
all legal game birds (except turkeys),
all nongame animals, squirrel, javelina and alligator (not valid for other game animals, NOT VALID FOR DEER)

... and it states that Hogs fall under the Exotic category.

Thanks,
Charlie

Yes, he will need both for turkey and hogs. Too bad turkey license doesn't cover hogs too but it doesn't.

Thanks for the reply... You'd think Tx would send someone $5 or something to come take out a hog or two.

Texas does! Just depends what county and when! This one just ended in Bastrop County

The Bastrop County Commissioner’s Court approved the Feral Hog Bounty program to be held from October 1, 2015, to February 29, 2016. The amount paid will be $7.50 per hog tail.

Below is copied from the TX hunting regulations. I believe it also depends on whether you are hunting private or public land. It was my understanding you did not need to have a license to take a depredating hog on private land. Please let me know if I have this wrong.

Hunting License

A hunting license is required of any person, regardless of age, who hunts any animal, bird, frog or turtle in Texas (except furbearers, if the hunter possesses a trapper's license.) See Hunting Licenses and Permits.

No license is required for nuisance fur-bearing animals, depredating hogs or coyotes.

Non-residents under 17 years of age may purchase and hunt with the Youth Hunting License.

If you plan to hunt hogs, you need a license period. Hunting hogs and happening upon a hog tearing up a bunch of crops is a bit different, hence the depredating term.
