This has got to be the ultimate elk rifle. 225 grain at 4,000 fps.
Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

At 28lbs for the rifle and 39 inch barrel, not exactly a typical mountain rifle. Give it a high BC bullet and that would be a flat shooting combo though.

A little Titanium here and there, composite stock, lightweight rings and scope should get it down into the 15 to 16 lb range. Just make sure you have a spotter because it will probably kick you unconscious for a few minutes.
