We have seen a lot of action in the vanderpool and leakey area. All of our hunters have hit & been pleased with amount of activity.

You can't slam a door without hearing them gobble over west of Luckenbach. I'll probably try to go lure an old lonely gobbler within scatter gun range Friday.

San Saba area is covered up. You would have never thought we had turkeys here in the fall. This past weekend I saw them everytime I drove the property.

Don't think so yet. 3 weeks ago they were still running in gobbler groups.
Get out there and "sweet talk" 'em.

I saw more than one bird strutting, saw plenty of groups of hens but only loner toms working their tail feathers.

Saw a large group of hens and gobblers this past Sunday in Edwards county. They eventually broke up mid morning. Hunting should only get better in a couple weeks. I was still able to bag a nice tom. Will have another report this weekend from menard.

Sounds like the hens aren't very close to nesting yet. Hopefully later in the month they will be and the gobblers will work.

Had 6 gobblers saunter past me at 60 yards today, talking back to me constantly and displaying, but they had no interest in checking me out. They were there when I got to my place, so I didn't have time to get the decoy out and set. Two other toms were displaying while two hens fed. 'Guess they're not in the mood yet or else I sounded like the rather large girl with the sexy voice.

Gobblers are chasing hens around our place in San Saba.....hens hitting the feeders, gobblers are right behind them. Had a gobbler come charging my way and ended up taking a dirt nap, finally connected.

Birds are good in Llano Co this year. Lots of jakes though. Had 7 jakes come by before I could get a mature gobbler in.
Hopefully good rain will carry over into poult season and the good trend will continue.

This morning I got a good, old gobbler to my side of the fence, then hung. Then came in some, then hung at 60. My hen decoy must just be too ugly. He kept gobbling, but wouldn't budge. I finally tried to move closer (a second time) and he busted me. Also saw 3 mature gobblers hanging together along the other side of the fence when I'd given up and was enjoying my cigar. Of course, driving home I almost hit one. I think I'm going to take last year's gobbler tail fan and stick it in some agarita. Maybe build a brush blind. Maybe check out the clearance sales for a better decoy.
