There is a piece of property on a CR with no houses, just land and I would like to find the owner. I called the tax office and they said they need an address to help me with owner's name.
Any thoughts?

Most counties will have a map on their Central Appraisal District's website, which shows the various property ID's of the county. Find the property ID, and then enter it into their search system...usually you can find an owner name and mailing address from that data. it's how I found out who some of my neighbors were when I needed to contact them for downed fence lines, wandering cattle, etc.

check out the appraisal district website and see if they have an interactive plat map.

You may have to go to the appraisal office as many counties don't have the map service.

Thanks to all. They did have an interactive plat map and I was able to work off of that to get a phone number. I'm waiting for them to call back. Hopefully I have the correct number.

Appraisal district website. That's how we find all of our leases we hunt.

OnXmaps's Hunt App is pretty slick and gives you land info on all private land in texas. I am probably on some list for cold calling so many landowners.

You can get land owner info from MyTopo.com also. But I'm not sure how accurate it is. Our place up in OK still shows my grandma as the owner and she passed away several years ago.

yeah, need to verify actual owner. Reason I know, I had about 200 acres of johnson grass bailed after calling all the so-called owners (mostly banks) to get permission. After it was bailed and we started loading to take to the barn, a guy showed up asking how much I was paying for the hay off his place ... After a discussion, found out the bank that had his loan was who I contacted, ended up letting him have half the hay that I had paid for.
