Hope everyone had a better opener than I. Not a single gobble today after weeks of seeing them at the feeder cams and running across the roads. Come on next weekend!

They were quiet in Young County too. Two weeks ago they were making all kinds of racket all across our lease.

Quiet in Breckinridge too. They finally woke up yesterday afternoon. Strange...quiet all morning...then one call in the afternoon and this one ran in gobbling all the way. Gman

Hearing similar on our ranch, lots of morning activity the quiets down before 11am. Gobblers started about about 1 month ago hard and seems to be diminishing

Gobbling heavy in Mason and Menard Counties, they were making noise all day. I saw a lot of toms strutting but I had to leave the ranch and come home on Friday, so no opening day hunting for me. I'll be after them next week.

Got one in Palo Pinto near Ward Mountain off SH 4 at about 7:45. Had a hen doing the calling for us and had two toms going. The hen and the other tom kept calling after the shot but gave up soon.
