I have gone down the road and cut vegetation for camo for years. I am hoping to start a new way of camoing my blinds. I hung the buckets with wire on the camo retaining wire. When season comes I plan to just cut the vine at the bucket and keep the rooted plant until next spring. These vines are supposed to explode with growth.

If this vine has half the tenacity of the vine that tries to grow on my house and propane tank every year, then I am good to go. I am going to dig it up, pot them and hang them as well.

The bamboo is still doing good. I am leaving it as a base. We shall see. If it works this is going to be the easiest camo job, ever!

not sure of the name of it, but I had quite a bit of what I call balloon vine growing in areas and transplanted it to blind areas, as well as some other brush clumps. It took off and did great until the big flood last spring...hasn't came back anywhere since. hopefully itll work out for you. need to do some more myself

I like the idea. I have a couple permanent ground brush blinds at my lease for deer and turkey hunting. I transplanted nearby native vines around the base of them to grow over the piles of limbs for a living brush blind. The only thing I would wonder about your project is will the vines you have retain the leaves once cut or after a freeze. If so, will the vines without leaves still be enough cover for what your wanting. The vines on my brush blinds drop all leaves at once in the fall, probably with the first freeze.

The leaves will come off after I cut it. The vines will die and turn brown. I am guessing the first year I might have to supplement what is there. I think subsequent years is when it will pay off. Mind you I can't even grow a Mesquite tree so we shall see.

I've thought about trying to grow vines on the blind years back but the cows would just eat it.

I checked last night while getting mauled by mosquitoes. I think that vine that grew on my house and propane tank is coming up now. I sprayed it and cut it out. It came off the side of the house in big 1 foot thick blanket looking sections. If it takes and grows on that boat, I am probably going to have to just cut shooting holes.

You need to build a U shaped raised flower bed, you can back your boat into, and the raised flowerbeds will surround your boat, and be at the right level. Get those weed vines that grow like crazy you can't kill, they come back year after year.

A handful of morning glory seeds works the same way. I also literally planted some bushes my neighbor had dug up. Anything to not re brush all the time.

Not rebrushing every year is the main thing. Another important factor is how the vine will grow and wrap itself up in the goat wire used to hold the vegetation.

Bamboo it up and you are done with it.

As long as you use native plants you are on to something. Tell you one guaranteed plant that will thrive drought or flood. Plant a tiny spring of poison ivy and come back in a week. Done!

The front and ends are bamboo and sago palms. The best are queen palms. They don't have thorns and cover a lot. All of them wear out even bamboo. We will see what happens. This weekend I will dig up that vine behind the house. You will see something similar to the movie "The Blob" if that things takes off.
