Coming to West Texas to hunt this weekend for the opener. Forecast shows 33 degrees Saturday morning will that have any effect on the gobbling on Texas Rios? I'm from Alabama and have never hunted Texas before, so I just didn't know if it would change their attitude or not.
I have a shot a Tom while snowing in April probably around 8-9 years ago. Was sitting in a double bull blind and trying to stay warm and dry. I gave up around 9:30 and while walking back I was calling and two toms answered and killed one. I have shot several birds with frost on the backs.
You just never know what they will do when the weather changes. Good luck to ya!
I hunt south of Sonora and we had freezing temps on Sunday of the first weekend. Birds were going off all morning. Now Saturday with the high winds and cool temps had them shutdown. With light winds scheduled this weekend, you'll be fine. Good luck to everyone!

Exactly the same in Frio. Had to hunt hard Saturday, but Sunday was a dream day.
