Went to fill my feeder and check cameras on a property in Ellis County I hunt. When I got there if found my feeder vandalized, all my lights for night hunting were broken, both my cameras had been stolen, the scum bags had left empty bottles of pig out, and had set a leg trap right behind my feeder. I've hunted this property for three years with no problem and now I'll have to give it up. I tore all my stuff down last night and took it home.

i'm going to call the Game Warden and let him know about the trespassing, as well as the trap I found.

I cannot stand trespassers and thieves. I honestly think it's kids from a neighborhood close to the property. There were no fresh tire tracks, so that tells me someone is likely walking into the property. I also found an older pellet gun and broke the stock, pump handle as well as bent the barrel.

My rant is over.

Pellet gun may have helped the GW find out who it is, sounds like kids for sure. If he went doer to door with the pellet gun, a parent may speak up.

Do leg traps and kids usually go together?

Maybe teenagers? The leg trap and empty bottles of pig out made me think it could be adults and kids.

Do you know what size trap and remember how it was placed? Haphazard would indicate kids/teenagers to me.

I understand wanting to "break something", but think of how great it would feel to see the GW kick their azz's. Carry a carton of eggs for those "necessary" times

Bet a $5 bill they will be back, if you can contact the GW aASAP, then get a couple hidden TC back out and get those bastages on disk.

I took the trap. I'm no expert, but it appears to be a trap you'd use on a coyote. The trap was placed right behind my feeder on a game trail, but I wouldn't say it was hidden well. I may put another camera up and hide it. l

I never have understood vandals.

Vandalizing is one thing, but setting a trap behind your blind is crossing the line. Takes a 'special' type of mindset to do something like that.

I'd put some serious time into finding out who those people are; definitely deserve a good, old fashioned stomping.

set an old junky camera up as a decoy and aim a very well hidden one at it, they'll be caught by the one they don't see. I have an old camera I'd give you but its at my lease in Haskell. I cant stand thieves, I've had 4 wheelers, utility trailer, generator and game cameras all stolen over the years. I would likely deal out some brush justice if I caught them on the property.

If they left a trap they probably were coming back you should have set up some cameras where they couldn't be seen to catch them or lisence plates and captured the sobs on film to prosecute

I debated posting on this thread because scum like this push me over that anger line that we shouldn't cross! Good luck, somehow catch them and show no mercy regarding pressing charges.
