No, I wouldn't bother to try. Just a question out of idle curiosity.
I assume I'm right - am I?
Assuming the shot is "saboted" and not loose (if anyone still puts loose shot in shotgun shells - I don't have a clue not being a bird hunter - not a shotgunner either), shooting any kind of shot thru a fully rifled barrel the only effect would be that the spin would give you a real crappy pattern. And probably give you a much shortened effective range. Any effect on the shotgun itself would be the same as shooting a sabot slug.
?
9x19mm--Anything bigger is statistically insignificant.

You aren't going to damage the gun, but the shot spreads insanely fast.

spin = 30,000 RPM (or faster); you wouldn't have ANY pattern on paper at any usable yardage . . . .

He was throwing a pattern around 6' at 12 yards, and couldn't knock over steel. Everyone else had a modified or IC coke and it went down fine.

This makes me wonder what the pattern would look like at 5-10-20 yards with a shortened 18" rifled barrel with larger shot often used for home defense loads..... Never thought to try it, until now.

I just spent some quality time with Google......
Looks like: "Never mind" because of a doughnut shaped pattern - which misses center mass.

It's going to go just about everywhere except where you aim.
If you are one of those guys who always misses where you aim with the shotgun, the doughnut pattern could be a real plus.
I used to load up a 50 caliber muzzle-loading pistol with shot for dispatching snakes. That worked well, but the range was rarely more than three feet or so.
