Apparently happened while it was raining and everything was wet because nothing else burned. All that is left is the metal door and the metal part of the chair. Everything else either melted or was reduced to char as a result of the fire. If a person had been in the blind and knocked unconscious.....

I've seen something similar....only it was lightning in the form of toilet paper and a coffee can.

Damn!! Must have been a hell of a muzzle brake.
Could you see where it traveled down the metal legs?

I have seen a couple of deer stands that were hit by lightning and they didn't look anything like that. One had a hole where it arced to the metal legs and another had a rip down the side. That looks like someone just set your whole box on fire to me.

Whoa! . One dark morning before the sun came up I sat in my stand during a big storm, couldn't see a thing except when the lightening lit up things for a flash. I was pretty scared but wow..... I am thankful my stand didn't get hit Glad no one was in that stand!!!

Oh wow!!! Hunt out of one of these. Guess I need to quit kicking back and enjoying the show when the lighting starts.

When I was a kid in the 80s a huge bolt hit a tree about 400 yards from our house, was one of the biggest blue flashes I've ever seen. The nine goats standing underneath it had a really bad day.

That looks like someone just set your whole box on fire to me. Hate to say it, but I'm with this That was my first thoughts when I saw the blind but it is a mile and two-thirds from the nearest public road behind a locked gate and if anyone was up to mischief, they would have passed by other blinds to get there. I didn't investigate much. Left it alone for the guys to clean up. Checked out the steps to see if it was sturdy enough to climb to the top. Lifted up the door to make sure that no one had been trapped in there. Dreaded lifting up the door.
