What was your max in your prime?

Personally couldn't get much up after 3 plates.

295 last year

prime ... 385 max, 22 reps at 225 ... doubt I could clear 225 once now after numerous 3rd degree shoulder separations in both shoulders.

I could always bench press my girlfriend.

I prefer 12 ounce curls

How many reps?

Probably 6-8 per set. Depends on the day as to how many sets I get in

i did 325 4 years ago and havent benched since and then it was only to see if i could i'm not really a weight lifter at all.

My max is 225, somedays 135, just depends on the shoulders if they are going to cooperate. Haven't benched in about a year for that reason

I did 300 in college, but that was many moons and 12 oz curls ago... would be lucky to get half that now; although a couple of years ago i did get a tree off me while trimming during an ice storm

Got 295 at 38, steadily getting stronger, then found out I have a bad heart valve, so I am restricted to light weight lots of reps.

12 oz on most days....16 oz on good days.....32 oz when I'm trying to show off....but I pay for it later.....

Almost 250 before the shoulder gave up. I've dropped it down to 210 but still do the rest of my routine daily. 30 minutes on the elliptical at level 6 and 30 to 45 minutes on weights.

340 my senior year... Would be lucky to get half of it now. I lived in the weight room in high school, I've forgot how to get there lately.

250 just out of high school. I doubt I could even do 200 now. Spent other of time working out haven't been in the gym in year .

315lbs @ 31 (now I'm 39). Just started working out the beginning of this year again & work out w/225 for 3 sets of 8 to 10.

Highest ever was 387 for 3 reps. Almost 63 yrs old and still bench 310.

380 at the moment. New coach has added a lot of cross fit type work outs, and only doing core weights 2 days a week, instead of the usual 3. Joshua has a very different look lately. The kids have all slimmed down. Josh has gone from 234 in December to 218 this week. They are adhering to Jimmy Johnson school of thought, that fatigue makes cowards of us all.

Smart coach. Flexibility, core and plyometrics are key. All the power in the world is useless if you don't have the stamina and flexibility to use it. Assuming he isn't to cross fit focused and doing cleans, snatch and jerk for timed reps.

One of the things he did was plow up a 50 yard by 15 yard part of the peanut field behind the school. It is deep and loose sand and the boys run sprints through it 2 days a week. Also has them dragging sleds up a gentle hill. Josh said it is the most brutal thing he has ever done.

His ankle and knee strength will be much better. Remind him to eat. High intesity training is awesome until you hit single % body fat and have no energy.

playing college baseball i threw up 365 6 times without a spotter, never attempted more. disclaimer that was when prohormones first came out

My body weight multiple times, haven't maxed in a long time.

Can also do way more chin-ups than I expected. Played with that a little last night.

Good for him him. Senior year I was around 265 and played defensive end and and tight end, coach cut me to 230. I was much quicker and actually stronger. Moved to strong side linebacker and rover. When I got moving across the fields and put the hit on them it was wicked. Gained a lot of yards after the catch at tight end also.

What if your big, fast, strong, and can run all day. That's the guys at the top now. They train seven days a week all year long.

In High school it was 5 reps of 255. Haven't seen any point in it since.

When I graduated from college I was 6'0" tall weight 180 lbs and for my last set on bench I got up to 2 plates on each side and a 25 lb, if my math is right that's 275 lbs. Could not do it right now I guarantee it, not even close and its only been 6 years.

Used to love the bench. Senior year of high school I hit 300 3 times, but never tried it again. 25 now, and haven't been on a bench in 4 years

I'm 6', 180. Lifetime max was 260, two reps about six months age, soon after my 53rd birthday. I have a great gym very close to my office and go every day on my lunch hour. Didn't achieve my goal of 1.5 x's body weight, now have changed things up. I start with body weight, 10 reps, go all the way down to an empty bar in 20 lb decrements, all the way back up. I never tried to throw that ball over them there mountains but did get back into working out about ten years ago after an accident.

315 has always been an impressive number to me with those 3 plates on each side. Always wished I could get it. Not sure where I am now but I did get 275 during a workout session (1 rep) with a spot recently. I feel stronger now than I ever have. Hopefully I can get there. I'm about 6'3" and 235lbs so those long arms haven't been nice to me when benching.

Haven't tried in several years, 340 4 times was my best.

Chest day is Wed's and I am a 10-8-6 then a 6-8-10 then fails on 4 wheels and will Max out at 4 wheels...

465 for 3 reps. had injury and had to stop for last 2 years but getting back into it and hope to get up to around 415 next june for the firefighter olympics, also deadlifted over 600 and squatted over 500.

my 16 yr old 165pound son was doing 315 for 2 reps.

I've always been a wimp on bench for my size. In high school I could only bench 285 and weighed 208. I was a calf roper and could squat 515 and deadlifted a ford ranger that was stuck in the Sandhills one night and sat itthe rear tires back on the road, and that was after drinking at least a case of beer.

3 sets of 10 reps 225lbs a few weeks ago. Added a 235 in there somewhere.

3 sets of 10 reps 205lbs today.

I bench alone so I have to be careful. I'd like to see where I end up but without a spotter, I just keep doing 30 or so heavy (for me) reps.

At my circuit gym last night the group trainer (whom never lets me take breaks in between circuits) asked me "two plates today?"

Told him to make it one plate if you want three rounds of 20 reps
