I have been traveling from Allen Texas to Coleman Texas for 15 or 20 years. I typically leave in the middle of the day in the early early hours of the morning or later in the evening. Is there a good way to drive at 5 o'clock in the afternoon?
I was thinking Bush to 30

I'd probably stay on 161 all the way to 20. It'll eventually meet back up with 30 before Aledo but you'll miss a lot of mid-cities and Fort Worth traffic. Really not a whole lot of options but might save you some time.

Vernon...the OP ain't goin' by way of Weatherford OKLAHOMA Me myself I'd be goin' South down 75 to I-20, then across I-20 to Hwy 67, and watchin' the LEO's around Cleburne....or .... down 75 to I-30 in downtown Dallas, then west into downtown Foat Wuth, and pick up the new Toll Road & south to the west side of Clebuerne and on down Hwy 67. Be sure to watch for the John Law at Santa Ana too. Hope you're not hunting the Neff Ranch north of Coleman on Jim Ned Creek... Cheers Ron

You know how much rain Coleman has got lately? Headed out in the AM and trying to decide if I'm going to take the four wheeler or not.

Around traffic time, I go 161 to 30, and get on the HOV. It's not great, but it's better than the alternatives. As far as rain, it looks like they only got a trace. Here's a good website to check. http://www.srh.noaa.gov/ridge2/RFC_Precip/

I take 121 to downtown ft worth, then continue on to 20 on the new toll west, southwest of down town.. theres usually a little traffic in lewisville where 121 business meets up, then traffic again just passed the airport to Euless. Once you pass that, it's toll for a good while at 75mph..

I am did up taking Bush to 30. Bush was stop and go for a short period. Pretty smooth sailing once I got to 30.
Great weather so far. A little on the Windyside for me but everything is pretty dry.

82 West to St jo, 59 to Jacksboro, 380 to Graham, 67 to Breckenridge, 183 to Cisco and 206 to Coleman... Can you tell I hate the metroplex and traffic?

Or maybe 82 to Gainsville, jump on 35 for a couple of miles and then 51 to Weatherford & pick up I-20 to Cisco! When we go to Arkansas we leave the Weatherford/Azle area and take 51 up to Gainsville and pickup 82 going east....beats the heck out of driving through DFW.

You don't want to hit 20 in Grand Praire. Traffic west through Arlington is generally stop and go during the evening g rush hour.
