I am looking for a new hunting pack that I will also be able to use on an elk hunt in September. Does anyone have any experience with this company or gear. I really like several of their packs. Here is the one I am looking at.

I have one of these and love it.

Pathfinder

Great quality, components and gives me one place to keep/haul all of my stuff.

I have the same fanny pack. It's great. I actually just bought a turkey vest from them too.

Here's the fanny pack I have: http://www.alpsoutdoorz.com/products/packs/hunting-packs/pathfinder

Here's the turkey vest that's (hopefully) in the mail: http://www.alpsoutdoorz.com/products/packs/hunting-packs/grand-slam

I have the commander pack and bag. I have used it twice on pack in hunts. This last year I packed in gear 6.5 miles in the snow and ice and harvested my first mule deer buck. Between my buddy and I, we packed the quartered deer out of the canyons and back to the truck. My initial weight going is was 63 lbs and I felt pretty comfortable with the way the weight was distributed. There are many different adjustments to fit the pack to your body. I am 6' 225lbs. A friend of mine just bought one and he is about 5'8" and 165 lbs and it fits him as well. I don't have experience with other framed packs but for under $110, and the reviews I read, I feel like this is a reliable pack.

All Alps products are very well made. I have a lot of their chairs and a coup,e of their blinds. I have a back pack but only used it once. It was very comfortable to wear.
