Going to be at the Boys State Powerlifting Championship next week (Friday and Saturday) and looking for places to eat. Need some advice from the West Texas Experts! The group I'm with has done the steak thing so we are looking for ????

Blue Sky is good. Good burgers with multiple toppins (chili being my fav). Chili cheese fries, onion strings. Cold taps and TV's
Stillwater BBQ on S. 14th. Great BBQ. They have brisket nachos on Wednesdays, pitch til you win pork ribs on tuesday. Prime rib friday (til its gone)
Sharon's BBQ
Lytle land and cattle. chicky fry steak, steak, seafood.....
La Popular on Pine (north side). GREAT breakfast burritos
Alfredo's on Buffalo Gap Rd, or S.14th. Good mescan food
Thai restaruant on S. 7th and Leggett. Haven't been yet, but reports are good
Then youve got your chains. Abuelos, red robbin, BWW, wingstop, double daves, chilis........

I know that there is going to be a huge influx of people in town for this and money to spend. We may check out a couple of these IF we have room after a stop in Strawn on the way in! Now, the question is what to order at Mary's?????

Best Burger IMO - Heffs on HWY 351 and E Lake Rd (Blue Sky is good and has a lot more space)
Best BBQ IMO - Stillwater on S 14th
The best place in Abilene by far to eat though is the Beehive on Cedar. Great steak, great burgers, great chicken fry and try the spinach artichoke dip! It's a little nicer place but still casual.

Lots of good recommendations above. I survived college by eating Alfredo's in college about 3 times a week. If you are looking for a place that serves good steaks, try Perini Ranch south of town in Buffalo Gap.

Ate there twice, never again. Way overrated IMO. I agree a little. It's pretty good but I think it's more about the atmosphere. Anyone here have an opinion about the Beehive in Abilene? I love the place!! I get the 14 oz fillet and sometimes I'll get it "oscared". They put crab meat on top with bearnaise sauce. It's legit!!

Ate at the Beehive in Albany but not Abilene. The one in Albany is extremely good.

The Beehive in Abilene is very good eats. Don't eat there as much as the one in Albany (all you can eat shrimp thursday nights)
The wife and I eat at Lytle Land & Cattle a bunch they have good steaks, the quail is excellent. Heff's Burgers are very tasty. Several locations in the area. Skeet's over on Southwest Dr is some good home cooking. Al's Mesquite Grill has some good BBQ and Steaks. If you have deep pockets Copper Creek is pretty tasty... a little overpriced but a very fancy atmosphere
