Anyone have experience with Spintech and their eliminator plates? I can get their 12 volt feeder control unit for about $60 less than the ultramatic. I don't have any experience with Spintech, but my brother has been using ultramatic and their products and customer service is second to none. I'm just strapped for cash and if spintech is a decent product it might be worth a try.
Also are these eliminator spin plates worth the extra price or is a varmint cage really the best way to go?

I have used both and they both work well. Been using the eliminator for about 2 years and about all I ever do is to spray the linkage with oil when I fill the feeder. No cage needed.

Here is my setup. Never had a coon make it to the spinner. Had a stand and fill type feeder for years with a spin tech and still never had a coon problem.

The Timer is where the Ultramatic is superior. Best timer in the industry IMO, and I researched a bunch before settling on those I build with.
Also can't beat Ultramatic's warranty. Great service for the life of the product. They are more money, but I believe they are worth it in the long term.

Well guys I decided to go with the spintech. I'll let yall know how it works vs the ultramatic after a few months.
We have 2 ultramatic setups at the lease that have been working well. One ultramatic had corn jamming the chain links that make the eliminator plate go up and down, but other than that they have been working flawlessly. Ultramatic said they haven't had that problem before and were willing to replace it. Also "The Timer" on one of the ultramatics kept resetting back to 12:00 and resetting all the feed times. We called ultramatic and they swapped it out no questions asked. Their customer service has been fantastic.
The ultramatic 12 volt with eliminator plate, corded solar panel and 12v battery is 209 before tax. I was able to get the 12v spintech with their version of the eliminator plate, corded solar panel, and 12v battery for $160 after shipping and taxes. Hopefully I have good experience with it too.
Thanks for the input.

By the way, what makes "The Timer" the best timer on the market? I've heard this a lot. I've never really had a problem with any timers i've used. Even cheap timers from academy have worked well for me. The only problem i've ever had has been with batteries, solar panels, or motors.

What makes it best IMO is the 5 year warranty they offer "The Timer". Only timer I will use and had great success.

I just set up the spintech unit last weekend. I was really impressed with it when i set it up. The plate drops and seals instantly, it throws corn really well, and the timer worked just fine. I'll give another update when I go check on it in a few weeks.
