I've seen flocks of 400 to 500 birds in the panhandle of Texas, NW OK, and Kansas. I call that a lot of turkeys. Flocks of bachelor gobblers numbering 100...these are all longbeards..no jakes.
What do you call a LOT of turkeys?

400 -500 I would call a chit load too, hard to see how that many could survive on the same acreage though. I have "read" the experts say, it takes about 30 acres per bird (all considered IE brood range, food, water and roosting). Largest bunch I think I have seen (discounting the turkey houses in Ark ), would be maybe 100-150 around Leander TX (in 77-79 before it built up)
If at first you dont succeed, then skydiving is not for you..

I call a lot when there are enough to have a good exciting hunt; Not the type of hunt where you call for days on end and no response.
