My dealer called me today,my stamps have arrived. So after work,I went and picked up my new Spectre II and Mack Bros. Varminter 3.0 suppressors. I got them all taken apart right now,and will treat everything with DOT 5 silicone oil tomorrow before I try them out.
The wait time for the stamp approval was 4 1/2 months.

Congrats!
I haven't heard of using DOT 5, but it makes sense. High Temp Resistant Lube.

What all should you do to a new can, was not aware that there is prep need? I won't have mine for a little while so might as well get ready to take care of it.

I posted an article that I read a while back on another thread. It's mainly for Rimfire suppressors, but since my .3o caliber can is serviceable I figured I'd do it also. It just mskes it easier to clean the baffles off without having to scrub them clean.

I haven't heard about the Mack Bros Varminter, you got a link to that?
I am hoping my Spectre II comes back in the next few weeks, it is an early Nov submission. My 10/22 barrels should be on the way back from Morgan as we speak. For sure I will treat my Spectre with DOT 5 before I use it. I will use my cerakote oven, should be perfect for that.

JTP, Dakota Silencer has exclusive rights to the Mack Brothers Varminter 3.0.Go to Dakota Silencers website to get info on it. Mack Brothers doesn't list it on their website.

That's a nice silencer, not cheap though. That covers all my fun calibers, would be nice. Don't tell Fireman, he'll have to have one.

Congrats on getting the stamps. I went ahead and bought the pure 350 silicone oil to do mine with. I haven't gotten around to treating mine yet. I've tried to clean the Spectre II by hand before and it's not a fun process. Better in the tumbler.

Toxarch what tumbler do you use and what is the process? Thanks for the help
I once drank muddy water out of a hoof print and was dang glad to get it.
