I have a 2005 and it has two faults built in. I do not know if they have been corrected. The first fault is in the hand brake. It can be driven when it has been partially engaged. A friend drove mine when it was new and I eventually had to put new brakes on it at a considerable cost. The second fault is the bed. There is no lock all they way down. It's lose and wiggles. I had to drill a hole in the bed and screw it down. Lets make it three faults. The seats suck. I had to replace them after a couple of years. I'd rather have a bench seat. It has almost 800 hours on it and had to have front wheel drive shafts. I've spent no more than around $1,200 on it over the years.
Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

I have the 12 550, it has bench seats but the material is tearing on the drivers side where you slide out. No hand brake, it has a foot pedal and you have to set it right or it will move. It has a locking mechanism on the front side of the bed that you can operate from both sides. Changing the oil is kind of a pain but you'll get use to it, haven't had any major problems.

Not an owner, but I've used two and they were quite nice. Seemed to work just as hard as a mule, but much smoother and easier to drive.
The secret to a long life is to try not to shorten it.

I've only driven one, and it had a propane conversion. It was the smoothest riding, most quiet ATV/UTV I've ever been on. Loved it.

We have a basic '05 Gator and an '07 Mule 3010 Trans 4x4. Unless it's raining I use the Gator far more than the Mule. That Gator rides and steers much better than the Mule. Both units have been almost trouble free. About all I do is change oil once a year.
In the end, it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years.

I've got a '13 825i. Good machine. If I had to think of a draw back its that its harder to find aftermarket additions for them. They're out there, they're just not as easily accessible as different makes such as the Polaris Ranger. As for functionality of the Gator. Awesome.

There is a dairy farmer here that has had several. I think that is the only brand of SxS they use. They don't maintain them at all. They run them a lot throughout the day. They beat them to death. And they seem to be like the Eveready Bunny....just keep going and going......
After witnessing what these people have done to them over the years I would have one in a minute.
