Maybe we should have a lake naming debate like old times?

My trim has been going on and off, think it's electrical, wiring lose somewhere I think. If I had a go-devil this wouldn't be an issue.

little fishing here and there. Mainly waiting on the river to go back down. Have a couple new impoundments to build, one to spray and do lots of underbrush/tally tree cutting, and the normal planting. Couple pits to sink and normal blinds to set out. Get the rice planted in late may, babysit it and plant the millet in late july-early august. Have plenty to do!! It is pretty slow around here....was thinking about asking everyones opinion on GHG vs G&H!

Don't rub it in Wayne, that's not nice. At least now its stuck in a good spot where I can drive it.

That was kind of a nasty thing for me to post. Look on the bright side, wiring isn't easy. It could be a corroded switch, a pinched wire, a burned wire, a wire with a hole rubbed in the insulation allowing a ground.

With a volt ohms meter you can start and a 12 v power supply you can begin tracking things down. Isolation is the key. Isolate the motor on the trim and give it 12v power. If it works then maybe it isn't the motor, maybe. With the volt ohm meter you can turn on the continuity, mine and most meters have a an alrm that sounds when continuity is achieved. I would go to the switch first for this test. Check it off and then switch to on with the probes hooked up. It is not a complete positive because of the switch positioning can make contact sometimes but not all the time. If it is negative then that is it. Then check continuity of the wires involved. Again that takes only one negative continuity test result to declare location of a problem. Positive continuity is never a declaration of a problem located.

When you say going on and off, please explain what it is doing.

When you say going on and off, please explain what it is doing.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It will stop working, I get back there and poke around on the wiring (all I know how to do lol), then try and it works. Sometimes it slowly starts working, like the electric connection is going on and off rapidly, then it starts working fine, then stops again. When it is not working, I can hear a click back there when I flip the switch.

This is the wires going to trim motor, it is worn here with the outside sleeve, but green sheathing around the wire is fine...

check the flux capacitor, sounds like a connection either coming loose or a grounding out somewhere

Note for Ag2015: the flux capacitor comment was a joke, Guy and Wal both know this is a joke, so please dont read to much into it
