What I am fixing for supper. question is, theses cod planks are about 4"- 6" long and 3/4" to 1" thick. Should I cut them into smaller strips or cube them to make them cook better and faster? Always baked cod or foil packed it on the grill, just wanting to try it different.. know you can't go wrong with cod, any way ya fix it.. thanks,cm250

I'd cut them in strips. I still have some cod in my freezer. It crumbled on a pan fried dish.

Ok, didn't feel like getting the fish cooker out, so used the fry granddaddy with butter flavored Crisco. First batch turned out great, went down hill from there. I know, was crowding it.... well lesson learned. Next time will use the fish fryer with peanut oil and not worry about it. Oh, by the way, even though all of it wasn't breaded real well, it was all eaten and everyone asked when I was going to fix it again..... guess it wasn't all that bad. Do love me some Cod!!!!!!

While peanut oil is fine, there is no benefit to using it. It wont keep your fish from getting soggy if you over crowd or don't have the oil at the correct temperature. It will cost you more than vegi/canola/etc. though.
Cod is good fish, I like to bread it in panko bread crumbs with an egg wash, comes out really well, but is not as easy as a beer batter, especially if your cooking it in quantity.
