who still takes this? In the early days I could not wait to get it in the mail - either I changed or they changed - I bought one off the rack today and in ten minutes I was done - cost $6.99 so not worth 69 cents per minute. It just does not resonate with me anymore. I have nothing against deer breeders or anything else but I just do not relate to reading Ted Nugent columns. Am I the only one?

Nope. I was a long time fan of the mag and it's gone so far away from what it originally was I don't care for it any more.
When jerry Johnston sold it it went to pot
All it is anymore is Ted Nugents Colum (who cares what he thinks) and a few articles about the charco marrano or Killiam ranch deer hunts and a few other poorly written member stories.
Sad, it was the best deer hunting mag in its day imo

I won't subscribe again after this subscription runs out. I've read enough poorly written, self serving articles. Not enough useful information to justify the cost.

Was a member for about 20 years. I canceled about 6 years ago. It got away from it's original format and WAY too many ads.

I bought one to read on a flight and left it there and the other one was the one with Kaycee on the cover. I have a hard time reading it, there's better stories, pics and ads posted on here.

I liked it when it first came out. Haven't bought one in 5 years. Don't plan to again.

Never bought one myself, a friend had a copy I looked through, just for the centerfold of course . Reminded me of all the wasted Cabelas catalogs I get in the mail

TTH has pretty much ruined deer hunting in Tx...
high-end car-lot advertisement type stuff...
pics of folks who have $ to sit and wait for Mr Ear-Tag...
he'll be there about 5... we been watching him...
but, if you need a trophy to impress... just a small fee...
like going out to the chickenhouse early and grabbing the biggest, fatest rooster for Sunday dinner...

Don't think it would surprise anyone to know it's not high on my reading list.

I really enjoyed TTHA magazine, until it turned into nothing but ads related to the breeding industry. Haven't subscribed for about 10 years.

I bought one copy of it in 2005 because it had an article about a quail lease I was hunting on at the time.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

Would be interesting to see what their sales volume has done over the years.

"BTW, we have dogs in case you pull it a little.. extra $ " maybe TTH but B&C is a fine organization IMO - been around for years - LF requirements - if you think killing a B&C book deer is "little work" then you are mistaken.

My son had been on their Pro Staff for 8yrs and finally got tired of all the false promises that were made to him by Hal Gahm. We now enjoy the Texas Sporting Journal.

I won a life membership a few years ago.
It certainly doesn't have the mystique that it used to, but you have to remember, we get all the photos and stories on the internet FIRST... way before they get a chance to go to print.

"BTW, we have dogs in case you pull it a little.. extra $ " That happens with every game animal in every state. You think trophy elk, mule deer and antelope hunts are cheap? What about bighorn or dall sheep hunts? Their magazine went down hill but I can't blame the state of Texas deer hunting on them. People think shooting big deer is trendy, what can I say? No different than people spending big money on lifted trucks, ski boats and breast implants
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.
