I am looking to purchase a vacuum seal machine for vacuum sealing deer meat and fish. I have been looking, but there are lots to choose from. Any recommendations from here would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome...I have used the Weston 2300 for the past 3 years and it has performed flawless. I process quite a bit of both domestic and wild game. If you're just doing a couple deer or hog you could do just fine with foodsaver type machines. I think I paid around $250 for the Weston.

We bought a Italian made "vacupack deluxe" after much reading. It isn't cheap, but we wanted long term value. It has a rebuildable pump and can handle liquids better than most. We have used ours for 3 years and it has been great.

One tip you will read for most sealers, chill meats and other items often makes sealing better. Also bag type and quality can make a difference, whether pre-cut or bulk rolls.

We considered the Weston for the same price nearly, but took the longer warranty.

I was just reading up on them in the latest Cabelas catalog and never thought about how they seal when dealing with liquids. They claim to be able to vacuum the air out of the bag while leaving the liquid in there. I don't know if all of the different brands do this or not.

Been using my FoodSaver for 15 years. No issues, works as it should.

I've had good results with a Food Saver. I use mine primarily for meat. I don't package a lot, but do 2-3 deer a year and some pig as well as bulk pack meat from the grocery store. When I do package liquids like stew, soup, or chili I will freeze them in a cake pan. One they are hard a slice the blocks into desired sizes (1-2 servings) and vacuum seal the blocks.

the gasket kept breaking and I would lose my seal. Took it back and got another one with the same result. Borrowed my buddies cabela's brand one until I decide which one I want to spend my money on.

If you are going to use it a lot, get a chamber sealer. They are expensive but the bags are a lot cheaper. You can do liquids without any problem.
