So last weekend, I finally got to shoot a boar with some decent tusks. I had been on my bucket list for some time, and it finally all came into place.

I had often heard about large boars being nasty creators, I didn't doubt it at all............that said, actually smelling one up close and personal, yea well, that was an eye, or even nose opener lol.

A number of smaller hogs were around the feeder when he came out. With the others in view, I could see how he was almost grey compared to them, mangy looking almost.

That said, the look, or the HEAVY shield on him didn't stop the 165g Sierra Game King, maybe since it was in the neck. He did start to do the shuffle when he fell, and I was thinking he may disappear, so a couple more rounds in the chest stopped the dance.

I boiled up and cleaned the skull, left it out to dry, and noticed as rather pungent smell a few days later bang looks lies i didn't clean it enough. So now nature is doing her stuff for me, courtesy of the many ants I am now, temporarily happy to have. up

nice job. hog heads are not easy to do. i do euro mounts, i think the problem is bone marrow, you can get a hog head spotless but it will stink and oooz rotty liquid out of holes they have in certain places on the jaw and skull
