Mikey, here's my $.02.....

You'll have much better luck hunting the NW side of Lavon when it's raing or after a good rain. Rising water pushes hogs out of the bottoms and there's less ground to cover.

Buy a couple dozen packs of Koolaid, strawberry or grape. Carry a small trenching tool, or one of those small gardening scoops. Once you've found a spot with game trails or hog sign, dig a hole, dump a couple pack of koolaide in the hole then cover it up and pack.it down. Go back to the spot a couple days later, if there are hogs in the area
they will have rooted around the 6
The gound will be togrn here's a significant amount of illegal shooting at Lavon on both the NE and NW side of the lake. It's common to see spent brass, though it's typically closer to the entry/exits of the lake.

It's a common occurence to see or hear folks shooting rifles and handguns at the lake. Be careful, and wear orange per the Lavon regs.

The Koolaid deal may be considered baiting, which is illegal at Lavon. Better check with a GW first.

I have gone through the regulations and don't see anything that says baiting is illegal. Am I missing it?

Just going by what the GW's told me at their office. Like I said, I'd call first.

Then there's this:

"Possession of manual or electronic varmint calling devices, baits,
or lures is prohibited while hunting."

I read that as no baiting for varmints. Section 18 clearly states no baiting for migratory birds but does not say anything about not being able to bait pigs. If the GW told you no baiting, I'd speak to his supervisor or the COE. The wording in the paragraph you referenced states no varmint calls, baits or lures. Wording there could be read more than one way.

Thanks. When you google Lake Lavon Hunting you get the Corp's lake page and under the Hunting Policy link, there is no mention of it. That could be troublesome.
