Ha, I'm sure everyone here would love to have dogs as "behind" as yours.

He did,,, and he will train that meat dog of yours for $300 a month as long as you buy into his contract.

Buyer beware...

We've had contractor's bid lower hourly rates then take twice as many hours to do the job thus costing more in the long run. Is this a comparable comparison?

I don't have a meat dog nor do I plan on sending a dog to him, but curious what his contract is...

I don't know what his contract says. I just know that's what he was advertising last year. I emailed someone that wanted to buy a dog from me and put it on his truck for summer trip. He was only going to charge the client $300 a month. Sounds like he was desperate for dogs.

I wonder if he's an amateur now? He's just running his own dogs at trials. His wife must really have a good job. You can't be on the road training all over TX and still hold down a full time job.

Angie,
You don't know anything about me. I, at one time had dogs for sale as a co owner deal in order to keep good trial dogs on my truck. I worked hard and trained them all up from puppies to get back in the game once I left K2. I needed help with the cost so I offered them as a co owner contract. The one I did sell under that contract has worked out well. The rest are no longer for sale. If anyone wants to see how good these dogs have turned out come to a trial and watch them run. The 300 dollar deal a month I have no clue what you are talking about. I did take a puppy up north for the summer and charged the guy only 300 a month. I don't charge full rate for puppies under a certain age. I will take them as early as I can to make sure they are started right. My monthly rate was at that time 650 a month. God has blessed me and my family and given me the opportunity to train dogs. None of your business what my wife does for a living. I will tell you I do train at pin oaks on Tuesday and Wednesdays. I was there on Mondays but they burnt the ranch off so I'm there only 2 days a week for now. I do respect Scott and his wife and try not to go there when the grounds are soft. I train at least 6 days a week. Where I train is none of your business. If anyone wants to see my daily setups I post most of them on my face book page. Angie I'll pray for you since there is something wrong in your life that you feel the need to talk about people. Four field trial wins and multiple other placements plus dogs that have master hunter passes at the age of two since I been back at it. I don't need to be posting on a forum to try and impress people Angie. This is my first and last post on here. God bless you all!

Goodness Greg, that's a lot of explaining when you don't feel you need to explain. I do remember you showing up a few years ago looking for grounds to train on since your wife just landed a job in Weatherford and you were going try training as a pro. As I recall you had a beautiful kennel in PA that was for sale, but for the life of me I can't ever remember you training there when I was there.

FYI,,, as you found out. Selling dogs with the contingency they stay on your truck never works.

But anyway,, I see you having wonderful success with your personal dogs,,, I haven't seen any client dogs being run at trials. But I'm sure you'll have a truck full before long.

BTW,,, you made my day!! ;-)

I'm going to let everyone on here know who I am since Angie thinks she knows me. I honestly don't have time to posted on here but I refuse to let someone that does not know me call me a wannabe when that person has not even come close to what I have accomplished.

My name is Greg Sharer. I spent most of my life living in Pennsylvania. I grow up around hunting hounds (Mainly coon hounds and beagles). I was taken out duck hunting in my late teens by a family friend who had a lab by the name of Kate. I was hooked ever since. In my mid twenties my wife bought me 2 labs. I trained them to upland hunt. I later got a field lab from Paradise kennels. That was the start of Born2Retrieve kennels. We started breeding field labs with the help of Paradise kennels who at that time had over 20 years of experience. I started training with the help of videos and help and guidance from Bob Montler and Mike Moss. I soon started running hunt test with a couple of already titled dogs I bought. After a few years I started training hunting dogs and hunt test dogs. My wife was offered a job in northern Pa. That's when we decide to build a large kennel and I would do the training full time. Before long I had around 8 years or so into it from the first lab I bought. After a couple of winters in the cold north we decide to move south. No better place to train retrievers than in Texas. So as the good Lord saw to it my wife was offered a job in Weatherford. I decided to go train bomb dogs for the Marines at AK9I and later with K2 until we got things settled here in Texas. I gave dogs away to good forever homes and sold a few to become bomb dogs in order to reduce the number of dogs I had so we could close the kennel. I later bought 2 pups Clyde and Philo and decided I wanted to try field trials. I was working with some of the best retriever trainers in the country so I ask questions and watched and learned. After 2 years as a bomb dog trainer I decided it was time to go back on my own. I started buying a few pups so I could build a truck of dogs. Knowing it would be hard to get clients just starting out in field trials. So I bought 4 pups along with Clyde and Philo so I have 6 that I own or co own. They are known as the big 6 on my truck. I do have a few client dogs currently but none that are ready for trials yet. So in the 4 plus years that I been running trials I had 4 wins along a number of other placements in very limited number of trials. One of the wins was recently a open win. I'm not one to tell everyone I am the best and you need to send your dog to me or cut down other trainers. I will take hunt test dogs and hunting dogs. I do not run hunt tests so if u can't run them yourself in hunt tests than put them with a pro that will. My current rate a month is 750 a month. I will cut cost breaks for pups under 6 months. If you want to follow me look me up on Facebook. God Bless!

I met Angie once. She is correct that I met her at her training grounds. I also know of her from the forum retrievertraining.net that she for some reason is now band from. I honestly don't know what her deal is with me. I said I was no longer posting on here I refuse to waste my time on someone that apparently feels threatened. She may be the best trainer ever. She can have all the clients she can get. I don't care about her business. My point is stay out of mine Angie! I honestly don't even care to be associated with you!

Welcome Greg...don't stoop down to her level. I can understand why she's banned somewhere else, most condescending person on this board. I'm shocked it hasn't effected her business, she maybe the nicest person you'll ever meet but the tactics on this board will keep me from ever considering doing business with her.

Congrats on your success!
