My daughter and I did a youth hunt near Spur, TX this weekend. While heading west from Arlington I started seeing Allsup's in every town. I grew up in a tiny town in NM with an Allsup's and always loved the fried beef/bean burritos so on the way back I stopped and got one. My daughter asked for a bite. She's also asked to drive my truck (same level of permission if you ask me). I begrudgingly gave her a bite. She said it's good but politely declined when I offered to buy her one.

We headed down the road. Next town there's an Allsups at the stop light..."Dad, can we stop so I can get a burrito?"

I ended up getting two more for me and one for her. She has now joined the ranks and I'm sure it'll be a regular stop when in West TX!

As much as I lover their burritos, their fried chimichangas are even better.

I like the burritos and the mini tacos with that orange taco sauce, and the jap corn dogs with lots of mustard. Hatch green chimi made me sick last year, might not be able to do that one again.

They are good and a tradition in our family as well when on the road. Not sure what happened but they used to be 2 for a buck! I think they other day they wanted 1.59 each.

There was one next to my high school that the kids would buy cigarettes from.
I've never in my life had the courage to eat there.

When on the road I would buy three of the burritos and rob about 50 packs of ketchup, I could get two bites of burrito to each pack of ketchup. That was awesome.
