Looking for a good bow to get me started. Doesn't have to be new and don't want to break the bank.

Stay away from the new diamonds, cabelas and bass pro brand bows. They are having cam problems and problems with the draw stops popping behind the cable locking the bow into full draw. Nothing worse than having an arrow knocked and not being able to let your bow down.

Haven't heard that issue with the diamonds and was talking with diamond for a while today. Have seen it on a couple diamonds and Missions with finger shooters twisting string enough to torque the cam enough the drawstop missed the cable.

Haven't heard that issue with the diamonds and was talking with diamond for a while today. Have seen it on a couple diamonds and Missions with finger shooters twisting string enough to torque the cam enough the drawstop missed the cable. Next time you look at a diamond outlaw, carbon cure, deadeye or bass pro black out or the cabelas creedence (I think it's called) draw one back and watch how close the draw stop is to popping over the cable. The first time I saw it a customer brought me a bow and the string was completely slack. I didn't catch what was going on until it was too late, the draw stop popped back over the cable and the bow when off with the cam in my can and split my palm wide open. Another time I was setting up some bows and test shooting. I drew back a deadeye and the draw stop popped over the cable. I was stuck back in the shooting range for almost 20 minutes with the bow at full draw unable to let it down before someone came and helped. It happened on 5 or 6 more bows for the year I was selling them. It doesn't happen on all of them. But the few times I saw it was enough to scare me away from diamonds until they switch cams or draw stop designs. It's a tiny little peg and it's not long enough to safely stop your draw.
