I live in the most stereotypical suburb. I am raising some chickens in the backyard but seeing that the chickens are being taken away at night by Bobcat or some other small predator. I am planning on shooting them at night by hiding and sitting. Also, I have a rabbit problem where they coming and pooping in my yard.
Which Gun do y'all recommend I get? I want it to be quiet and light. I dont want neighbors calling Police at night if I sit and shoot in backyard. Also, I want it to be light enough for my 9 year old daughter to practice with it shooting rabbits and coons. Thoughts and suggestions? Should I buy used ones?
Thanks.

Airguns are already pretty quite. Only trained ears know the sound of one going off.
I have killed rabbits and squirrels out to 30yd with a 640fps .177 Gamo Young hunter. My dad's .22 RWS Model 48 has killed squirrels at 80yd. That thing will put a hurt on anything in that size category, my opinion anyway. Have also used a Model 34/35. Very deadly, very accurate, but a little louder.
I like German airguns. I don't like the Gamo synthetic stuff as much as German wood stocks. But from what I understand, it works really well.

Maybe it's the rabbit that is eating the chickens...

Get some super colibre 22 ammo. Cabelas sells it. It is quieter than most bb/pellet guns I have used. Has plenty of pop for squirrels and rabbits. If your going to shoot coons, bobcat, or other larger critters with it shot placement will be CRITICAL.
