With one of the greatest hunting seasons in my lifetime now behind us, how many of you are having withdrawals tonight knowing you are not going quail hunting this weekend? I mean I am lost for not loading up and driving to the lease tonight. My mind has been in the field all day. I am satisfied that on the last day of the season, all of my dogs had multiple finds, still pointing right up to quitting time. What a season! I wish the new one started again next weekend. My two older dogs, 5 & 6, performed at a level this year that would have any owner in awe. They both kept me speechless all season long. They were nothing short of spectacular. But the one that has me really excited is my now 8 month old female setter. With zero formal training, she has broken herself in the field this season. With her, when the tailgate drops.........she is a little hunting machine! All I can do now is thank the Almighty for allowing me/us to experience my/ our passion one more time when I really had my doubts we would ever see it this good again.

Can't wait until next year.

My hunting partner is 85 and I am 70. Our last hunt we said thank you God for this year and let us have 1 more great season.

If it isn't white it is not a birddog.

Lying is lying. Don't bitch about one doing it and condone another. That's called hypocrisy.

You and giant are going to need some more dogs for next year. You already blew one opportunity by letting Ted slip away.

I once made up the off season with NSTRA but there are none near me anymore.

That seems to be all that's close to me is NSTRA. I'm putting my female pointer in the puppy class for the NBHA In two weeks. But withdraws have been really bad so far.
