For the last several years, I've fed protein 24/7/365 free choice. My protein stations are separate from my hunters feeders/blinds and they do not hunt my stations. In the past, my guys ran corn only during hunting season. This year, they have the corn running 24/7/365 like my protein. I want get into their reasoning but the hogs and coons are having a great time. What effect will the year-round corn feeding have on my protein bill. Will protein consumption go down?

If there are no feed pens on the corn feeders, then they are feeding a lot of non-target animals. If they are feeding corn during the daylight hours year round then they are not feeding to many deer or mature bucks in general due to the hot days/summer heat. IMO, a waste of money. Also if they are running 10 feeders twice per day and feeding 3#/feeding cycle then they are putting out 60#/corn per day. That is corn for all critters beside deer to get to before the deer do. If there are no feed pens then they are keeping hogs around year round. Hogs and deer don't mix to well in general. I would ask them if they want deer eating 7% protein with poor mineral values or they want deer eating 20% protein with a great mineral package during antler growing season?
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

I think the big question is what is their purpose? If it's to get some good spring hog hunting in then let them have at it. If they are actually planning to run them all summer then I'd tell them to pen the feeders as not to attract any extra hogs or end up with resident hogs sleeping within 100 yards of the feeders. It could help your protein bill but I don't think it will change in the summer and late spring
