The oars came off of ebay. There is a single 1884 patent so these are original Fred Allen bowfacing oars. A blind like that one was advertised on the forum by a drive by poster. I did not see his post until 5 years later when I ran across it by accident in a google search. I searched for the seller online and found him on an Arkansas hunting forum and contacted him there. Turned out he had a second well used one in his barn and we worked out a fair price. Since the subject is on blinds. I also have another flip top blind that was made by a company in Louisiana. It is so similar to the Pirogue blind that it almost has to be a spinoff designed off the older blind. I don't think it is made anymore either. but it is a really cool design. With bungee cords built into the top to hold it down, there is a foot lever in the floor that releases the top and allows it to quickly flip out of the way hands free. I plan to incorporate something like that into the Pirogue blind too. I love that kind of history.
