A few weeks back, I started a post and mentioned that I was a new hunter and had some misses on animals. I was looking for advice and opportunity to hunt. I mentioned I also spent too much money on Craigslist finding where to hunt to only find butterflies and no deer. I offered building of website/facebook maintenance in return for hunt. Some comments like ".. I will never let you hunt on my land... " were discouraging. However, there were some on this forum who went out of their way to help me out. I think the least I can do is to say THANK YOU to them on this forum. I feel like I am a hunter now (not being cocky) but dont think I maybe as expert as y'all. I also learned a lot about ethics of Hunting as well from the forum and from below folks:
A BIG THANK YOU to the following:Mbennett
(for his offer to take me hunting). Thank you for offering me to contact you anytime for hunting advice.maximus_flavius
(Thank you for actually "teaching" me how to shoot and showing me what I was doing wrong to miss my shots. Thank you for giving me multiple hunt opportunities and valuable advice. Your advice was my success).diehardoutfitters
(Thank you for sitting with me for hunt and giving tips on when to take the clean shot. At your land, I dropped my first deer. Had a heart shot).Chemdawg
(Thank you for your offer to help me come for target practice. Unfortunately, timing didnt work out but Thank you).
Went to another outfitter close to home (not on this site) land and had a clean head shot at the deer. No pain.
Thank you to others such as MikeSavoy, FrioCountyHunts, ... who have been supportive. Now I understand the difference between "Shooter" and "Hunter". My user name used to be "Straight_Shooter". I think I am a hunter now, not a shooter. LoL
