Looking at building an AR10 and was interested in the side chargers. Never been a big fan of the location of the charging handle on the typical AR. What's the good brands and who do I stay away from? Looking for mainly just a matched receiver set.

If you are going to spot and stalk hunt with it slinging it across your body the JP is the way to go. The bolt handle is spring loaded and folds down flat without gouging you in the chest or ribs like the others I've seen.

I have the Scar and JP, Scar is lighter but the charging handle digs into you. Also had the REPR but much prefer the other two.

If it's slung across the chest of a right handed shooter, isn't the bolt handle pointing away from the shooter? A lefty would have the bolt handle toward the torso.

Most of the charging handles are on left hand side for side chargers. Some are ambi with the charging handle on both sides it passes through the bolt.

Thought the handle was on the right side of the bolt.
