I'm a woodworker and have been for many years. I've accumulated a lot of varied woods and scraps. Some of the wood I probably won't ever use. I know I have some spalted Pecan and I'm pretty sure I still have some spalted Ash. And there are some small pieces of Cherry and Walnut that I just have kept rather than burned, because they had such pretty grain. And there's Persimmon and Hackberry (non spalted) that I'm pretty darn sure I'll never do anything with. And there's a good bit of Mesquite scraps of various sizes that didn't make it into cutting boards that I have made for family and friends.

I'm not going to quit woodworking, but most of what I do is in Cherry and Walnut, and occasionally White Oak and Cedar that was harvested off our place. The rest of the wood just sits there.

So, what I'm saying is that you knife makers are welcome to visit and pick some wood chunks for your use. I'm not trying to give away all of my wood pile to any one person. I just admire the work you knife makers do, and if I've got some wood that I won't use, maybe you can turn it into something beautiful.

Not my monkeys, not my circus...
