I have been using Record Rack at my lease close to Breckenridge, TX for a few years, just because I can buy it in Breckenridge. The deer eat it like crazy! I have seen some kickers's this year but unsure if it is a result of protein feeding or more rain? I'm curious if there is a better product to grow antlers at a reasonable price I could get between DFW and Breck? Any ideas are welcome!

probably a combination of both feed and rain. The protein really pays off in drought more so that when range conditions are good. Record rack is a quality feed - truth is the contents of most of the name brand protein is very similar. Some have higher mineral content than others but all in all if you compare the tags off the bags they are very similar.

Nothings beats good timely rains. Nothing beats a good nutritional supplement along with timely rains.
The differences in feeds will be in the mineral, trace mineral and vitamin package which are the most expensive additives to feeds. All those are very key. Also, the combinations of proteins in the feed are important as an antler when growing/finished is 44% protein, 22% calcium and 11% phosphorus. Those combinations of protein sources are used at different stages of digestions in the deer's stomach system. These minor details not on a feed label are the difference in feed brands. The key to a good nutritional program is that you see those improvements every year no matter what the weather is doing.
