I'm the same way with it. To me, pulling the trigger is by far not the best part. I'm in it for the show. Once you get one to work for ya, you'll always want to chase thunder chickens! I'll never forget calling up my boy's first bird in 2010, he was 10. It was our first year on the lease and never had seen or heard turkeys. During the spring youth weekend we figured we go check it out. More than likely only shoot some hogs, but went prepared. My "spot" was down on the creek so I figured that would be a good place to start. Scouted it the Fri night before and I'll be darned if he isn't the luckiest kid in the world. Put 'em to bed, set up a couple hundred yards off the roost under a big oak tree. I can replay that whole thing in my head like it happened yesterday. I was more excited for him than I have ever been for myself.
