I have this one:

Alum-line Brand out of Iowa. Heavy gauge, built to last a lifetime.

I love the dang thing.

Any issues with dogs opening slam latches from the inside?

pv, when you get home, look at the tailgate corners of your bed. I'm just pretty sure it won't work if its 48 wide. The 45 deep might allow you to drop it straight in from the top but I haven't measured mine to see how long the bed is. I'm afraid that won't work either but just haven't checked.

Had a 2 hole box built at Deerskin that is 48x40x24 that I use in my Expedition. They are building a 4 hole box for my mule with storage, water and a high seat that I'm looking forward to having for the up coming season. They are a little pricey but do excellent work.

Here's a look at the lockable latches.
No dog can open these.

The Owens has a secondary latch that locks it down tight. No way they are opening it.

If you want the best, I suggest Deerskin (http://www.deerskindogtrailers.com/ ) right here in Texas. I have a 3 hole with a water tank, lights (int and ext) and 800 cfm fan. The build quality is incredible. I have mine on top of a Decked unit with drawers. They also have 2 hole units that slide in between the fender wells. If you want some custom changes, they will help you work those in. If you like the storage, then try a fan and water tank. I use them all the time.

Hey Sweese, who made the drawer system under your dog box?

There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE

The Deerskin looks really nice. Only thing is that I have lots of Cabelas points and they sell Owens.

Get a trailer. My friend sold this one for $800.

Get the ruftuff plastic kennel. Check the video how indestructible they are. There light weight to move around as needed . Forget about those heavy behemoth looking ones

The money you save will pay for your bird lease. And cabelas carries ruftuff

Pretty impressive. A couple of those could be quickly converted for a quail hunting rig on a UTV. I tried this.

Good idea on the ruff tuff kennels. May get some for the Ranger, but I still want an Owens for my truck. The 2 hole version with top storage comes standard and with extra ventilation. Is the extra ventilation option worth the extra $200-$250 in your opinion?

Lying is lying. Don't bitch about one doing it and condone another. That's called hypocrisy.

These are amazing, got one about 3 months ago. A little pricey but worth the peace of mind. Being able to lock it is a real plus.

Well, getting an Owens from Cabelas is a no go as the boxes are shipped directly from factory and shipping is $200. Guess I need to find a local dealer or find a good used one.
