Shot this sow Friday night with 110 grain BarnesTac TX. The bullet hit behind her front leg and exited her opposite shoulder. She dropped in her tracks and barely kicked at all when she hit the dirt. I also shot two of her piglets 20 pounds or so with Remington 120 grain OTM rounds and they ran off. This round groups well from my gun, but it really let me down on small pigs.

Nicely done! Curious how it would perform with heavy subs. scratch

I'll let you know it two weeks.

Nice going! I just got a 300 BLK myself, and I'm thinking I'll move my Photon from my AR-10 over to it. Generally my night time shots aren't too distant, typically <80 yards.

Then again, I may just use the Blackout like a 'ranch rifle' since it's fairly lightweight and easy to haul around. Still pondering . . .

I have two unwritten rules:
1.
2.

Nice work! When you say, "it really let me down on small pigs", what do you mean?

I was referring to the lethality of the Remington 120 OTM round. I know it's not an ideal hunting round, but I figured it would have dropped the smaller pigs DRT. The Reminngton is significantly cheaper, but I'll most likely stick with the Barnes.

Nice! What barrel length? What distance was the shot?

8.5" radical firearms upper and I shot her from roughly 75 yards. It's way too soon to say if the Radical Firearms is a good product, but out of gate it's been awesome. The upper shoots great with the worst groups measuring 1 1/4" to a best of 1/2" groups with Barnes and Remington ammo. Question is if the upper holds together over time. For $199.00 it was worth taking a chance on in my opinion.

Killed many pigs with the Barnes 110 Tac-TX. Gives the best combination of speed, expansion, accuracy and penetration for the caliber.

Never shot the 300 blackout but have the 6.8 spc and it shoots great but didnt seem to work well on deer or hogs untill i started using the 110 grain varmit rounds and the damage they did put most deer and hogs down alot faster than the hollow point or soft point ammo i was using.

I shot 5 pigs just last week with the Rem 120gr OTFB and none of them went far. My biggest was about a 120 or so pound boar hog quartering to me. I was about 10' in elevation higher than he was on the 60 yd shot, but the bullet entered his neck and blew out almost half of its sternum. My wife took a cull buck and I've taken 2 boar hogs in the last 4 months with it. They didn't run very far. Shooting a Noveske 8.5" barrel.

I shot the spotted boar right in the middle of the pic. You might see a little gut hanging out...actually it was a lot of gut hanging out

high shoulder/spine shot 60yds - dropped

high shoulder shot - boar still ran about 25 yds

shot this pig about 60yds as well, ran directly away from up about a 40 degree hill. spine shot
