First off, I apologize for the quality of the pictures, but given the size of the deer I thought it was worth sharing.

The first picture is off a trail cam and while grainy it does give a good impression of the size of this deer's frame. The second photo was taken with a camera phone from a highway as the same deer crossed an open field...you will have to enlarge it to see that it is the same deer.

This deer is living on a small piece of property about 20 miles from my home here in Virginia, and there is a fellow who hunted him all of 2015 and all he has to show for it is the trail cam photo. What I was told is that the neighbor has seen the deer and said it's essentially a big typical. The neighbor is not a hunter so there is no way of knowing how clean the deer's frame is. But does it really matter!

In any event, this is a huge deer for anywhere and particularly from my area of Northern VA that is heavily populated and hunted hard (gun season is 3rd Sat of November through 1st Saturday of January).

Better make sure it 7 years old and after the rut before you take it. Be sure to check it in.

Great looking buck. Did you get any pics of the narrow tall buck you had on TC last year?

Do you mean this one?

If so, the answer is no. That deer was never killed to my knowledge. It was on a lease that my taxidermist's brother was hunting.
