I'm doing some research on subsonic ammo, and I'm trying to find specifications on gas port sizes for the AK-47. I've seen a few numbers, but they are all over the map on different sizes. Is there a standard opening size for certain barrel lengths, or is it common for a large difference in gas port opening sizes on the AK?

I'm showing this so far:

223 Rem in AR-15- gas port .065"-.067"
300 Blk Out gas port- 14.5" barrel= .081" opening, 9" barrel .125" opening
AK-47 opening ???

Any info? Thanks!

Most any ak is going to be over gassed as evident by the vented gas tube. I am not aware of a "standard" gas port diameter but I am sure there is a recommended range of diameters that companies like I. O. seem to ignore.
