Have a 98 Z71 that I recently acquired. Power window won't go up or down. I can hear the motor running but the scissors aren't moving. Is this an actuator motor issue? Thinking I need to just replace the whole actuator assembly and motor. Also, the guy I got the truck from said he's replaced them twice and the plastic parts on them keep breaking. Is there a better brand to get if I do buy a new one? Thanks.

You should be able to hook up 12 volt power directly to the motor to test to see if its a switch or actuator or the motor.
I had to replace a few on my last car, get on youtube and chances are you can find a video that shows in detail how to replace the one on your truck.

Probably needs a regulator, I would remove and inspect it first. I'm not even going to try and suggest where to buy the part from....
Never been to a camping world. I prefer Dick's to be honest.

The actuators are known problem issues. Replaced 3/4 on my last truck and a few for others. Found replacements on gmpartsdirect.com and it was a quick job once I figured out all the clips holding the door panel on. The little plastic pry bar kit from harbor freight is your friend on that one.
I'd pull the door panel off and see what's happening. The failures I've seen acted more like electrical problems than mechanical ones - no whining noise and no response when you hit the switch.

Oh, and when you order a replacement, pay close attention - the parts are different on each side of the vehicle.
