I'm in the market for a long range rangefinder. I have a bushnell 1000 ARC but really it does 400-500 yards. I'm wanting one that gets at least 1000 yards out of it. Any suggestions
Thanks Wil

I'm looking hard at the new Sig. I have a Leupold RX1000i now but it's unreliable past about 600 yards. http://www.sigoptics.com/product/kilo2000/
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Recently, I got to play with the Sig Kilo 2000. It is pretty danged nifty! I only tested it out to 500 yards, but it worked well. It has an active mode where it will continuous give you distances as you pan around and spot objects, something I really liked.
I have one on order now.

Bro, I've hit barns with that Sig at 2400 yards. I've always used Fusions. A friend of mine let me borrow his two weeks ago a now I may sell the Fusions and get the Sig.

I run the Bushnell 1600 and I've tagged targets at over 1 mile with them. It also depends on what target you are trying to laser. Larger one's are easier, smaller one's are harder.

Gotta like that image. It is a bit hard to tell what is being imaged, but it would appear to be a couple hundred yards of median, maybe a truck, or maybe a tree, LOL.

Not near as good as the sig for a little bit more.
The auto brightness on the sig is worth the extra coin alone,

http://swfa.com/Sig-Sauer-7x25-KILO2000-Laser-Rangefinder-P89068.aspxThis the one y'all are talking about? I needed a mile capable range finder an hour ago. I was scouting an extreme range shooting location, and the one I had with me was not up to the task.

Does the Sig, or any other long range finder have the ability to mount to a tripod? I can't keep one steady enough at 300yds much less 1 mile

Vortex does so I would assume the sig does.

I've used Leicas, Swarovskis, Vectronix , Leupolds and Bushnells. I have owned the G7 for several years and have always been impressed with how well they work.
All of that said, I borrowed a Sig Kilo from a friend and used it for a couple of weeks and it is very impressive. I have ranged cattle at over 1200 yards, my 20" steel target at 1800 yards and buildings at over 2700 yards. The only other range finder I've used that was any better or more accurate is a Vectronix Terrapin.
The best bang for the buck really is the Sig.

I know now what my next Christmas present will be, or maybe my birthday present. That looks like great performance for a not unreasonable price.

I've tagged small cedars at 800+ with my Leupold RX-1000I. I know that's not really long range for real shooters. Me it's too far.
