Okay so im hunting some public land in East Texas and it is Bow and Shotgun only.

I have a semi auto i use for birds and all it has is a simple bead sight on the front, If im using slugs for pigs what should i expect for range and accuracy??

Any slugs yall would recommend?

Should i still go for neck shots like i do with a rifle??

This will be my first time pig hunting with a shotgun so any tips will be appreciated!!

Thanks cowboy

I'd look to put a red dot scope on the shotgun. There are mounts available for some models, and there are also mounts that will attach to a ventilated rib, if your shotgun has one. As to which brand of slugs, the only answer is to start testing loads and to use the most accurate. For shot placement, I'd say its a question of how confident you are in your shotgun's accuracy. The shoulder is a bigger target if you need a little more margin for error.

Winchester Razorback rifled slugs work well in smooth bore shotguns. Neck or right behind shoulder has worked for me. You can expect decent accuracy out to 75 yards although most of my shots are usually within 50.

its a older gun my Grandfather gave me years ago and im not sure of the make, He ordered it out of a sears catalog. Dont think there are any mounts for it.

I will defiantly take your advice and test ammo this week and find my best pattern. Thanks!
