http://kamprite.com/shop/tents/off-the-ground-tents/kamp-rite-oversize-tent-cot/

aside from weight, only thing i can see is the support bars look like they would dig into your back when you are trying to sleep.

Sold the camper last week and I am just looking at options to stay dry and somewhat warm at deer camp.

I think they would be neat to sleep in during springtime next to the lake or something, but if it was real cold, I would be headed to the nearest motel.

I had one for a while, used it in a variety of weather. They work pretty well in cold and rain. However, they are like little ovens when it's warm.

Heavy suckers too! I eventually went back to a quality 2-man tent. More space and nearly as quick to set up.

Finally, someone with experience! Did the bars under the cot dig into your back when you slept in it?

We camped in the summer with army cots and skeeter netting. It was ok in the summertime, got the breeze. A tarp would be in order if rain was forecast. We just cut four corner sticks to hang it over the cot.

Buddy of mine has one and yes the supports will affect your comfort. You could carry, to use with it, a piece of plywood(cut to size) and camping mats or foam.

Do like the homeless under I45, cardboard boxes, tents, sleep on the ground!!! How about one of those metal utility sheds or plastic from Home Depot, Lowes, Sears etc.

You could feel them a little. I put a foam pad in it, was a nice improvement.

I sold mine as it was just too bulky. My main purpose was to use it camping on the beach on fishing trips, which it was great for. But, when I started doing less of that it didn't make as much sense.

Some PVC, a tarp, bungees, and an air mattress. If grandma can do it, so can you!

Been backpack fishing for years. Once I found my Hennessy hammock I swore off sleeping on the ground in a tent or on a cot. The asymmetrical design is extremely comfortable. Weighs around 3 or 4 pounds.

Bro-in-law has one and loves it. Where he hunts, there are too many rocks to sleep on in ground in a bag, even with an air mattress.
