This boar weighed 256.5 lbs according to this scale. It has 24 oz./1.5 lb marks instead of 2 lb marks. The 255 mark is actually where the rivet was on the scale. Scale stopped one mark above the 255 lb mark.

Very surprised he didn't weigh more. I saw one in a big pig contest a few years back that was in the 380's and based on those pics I thought he was in that class. I noticed yours didn't have the gut but looked like he had everything else.

I got pretty close, because I've killed more like that than I can count unfortunately, but fortunately it's alot of fun.  I'm still trying to find out what this one weighs.

Pig weight = length from base of ears to base of Tail x heart girth squared divide result by 400. That is a big nasty south texas boar. I have killed many that were larger and under a year old that was on crops. This is a trophy boar any way you look at it.

Might just go to show that all those other 250# hogs never saw a scale. I know other areas of the state produce some bigger hogs, but in 10 years of hunting our south texas place the biggest hog we have shot was 235 lbs... and we weighed them all. Several people thought the one that weighted 235 was 300+ easy and they weren't even close.

Shows you how much people over exaggerate weight when guessing. There were guesses from as low as 170 all the way up to 421.
