Several of us are just days away from returning to the great state of Texas for some much needed R&R. It has only been a few months since my last trip to Texas, but the more time I spend there the harder the pull is for my return each time. 4 of us will be going to stay at Double K Outfitters in Kosse Tx. I have hunted with Kelly for 4 years now. We have taken axis, blackbuck, fallow, aoudad and even a red stag (and plenty of hogs) over the years. This go around we are just looking to get a few hogs, but if the right exotic steps out if front of the wrong blind, you just never know what could happen.

If you are looking for a great time and an affordable hunt check them out on Facebook, you be hooked wink

I'm jealous!!! Double K is becoming a second home for me really fast! I'm booked for this fall already but I'm having a hard time not doing a hunt this spring too. Good luck and tell Kelly the cheeseheads say Hi.

Good luck! I'm sure you'll stay dry in his deluxe blinds. I cannot wait to see some pics!

You happen to have more information on the ranch? I checked out his facebook page and requested his website.

Jut curious as to type of hunt, stand or stalk is he set up for archery. Size ranch etc..

Also what are typical odds of getting shot at axis, fallow ETC

thanks for information

as far as I know he does not have a web sight. It is mainly hunting out of blinds. I assume you could talk to Kelly in advance and get the go ahead for some spot and stalk. His blinds are not set up for archery but again something you could talk to him about. Ranch is 1000 acres. I would say your shot opportunities are excellent. His pricing is extremely easy. Axis, fallow, blackbuck, sika, aoudad and red stag are $1500 any size. Rams are $500 any size and hogs are $1 a pound. He does not double book the ranch so you and your group will have it to yourself. Lodging is EXCELLENT.

The ranch is just outside of Waco in the small town of kosse. Most of the info your looking for is on his Facebook page. It's a awesome place with awesome owners. Very family friendly and very comfortable at a very reasonable price. I drive over 20 hrs one way to hunt there. So that has to say something

Got home late last night. It was another great trip. We took (as a group) 4 nice hogs 3 over 140 pounds and 1 was just over 110 pounds. My buddy took a beautiful blackbuck (18 inch straight tape) and one pesky "fawn killer". We were after hogs (mostly) and it was tough sledding for the most part. That said we all had shot opportunities at hogs. I let a nice (young) boar walk by at one point he was 15 yards. Sadly he was only about 60lb and I was hoping to find a nice tusker to put on the wall. Everyone seen many exotics. I seen several fallow that would look great on any wall. His axis heard is extremely healthy but most of the bucks were early in velvet. I seen a sika that was almost to much to pass on, and they have literally NEVER been an animal I was considering. We had 4 hunter with 3 of us making contact with animals. I was the odd man out, but I had a FANTASTIC trip/hunt. I have already left my deposit for a return trip in October. Kelly, even went the extra mile and smoked up a beef brisket on our 2nd night. IT WAS AMAZING! I can not say enough good about Kelly and Double K Outfitters.

I will post pics this evening after I get home from work

We had a great time. I seen several nice fallow. I think this next year is gonna have some great head gear. Especially for axis and fallow. Not sure about "ear tag"
