I'm shopping a higher grade .45 ACP 1911, I found one at Buds for around $80 less than everyone on Gunbroker and LGS.
While checking out, they mention the price shown is a cash price, which is cool but I have to go get a Cashiers Check or M.O. PIA. or pay the 3% upcharge.
Then, they "suggest" shipping insurance for the $80 they just saved me, "guilt trip"?
Shipping is "free" but I have to pay my FFL his $25 transfer fee.
I guess it all pretty much evens out. I have heard good things about their service
They have really great deals on their BLUE guns but I'm not L.E.

I've ordered guns from them numerous times with no issues. They usually are cheaper than most. Buds is usually the standard I use when comparing dealer prices. You also will not have to pay sales tax.

Ive found that Grabagun can beat Buds alot of times. You have to pay taxes but can save on shipping and pick up.

Buds is good to go you can use a debit card and do a cash transfer same as cash except you use your bank account and routing number. You get the cash discount and don't have to send money order of cashiers check. I've never bought insurance and haven't had a problem. I've bought a bunch of guns from buds.

I have only purchased two items from Buds, but they went smoooth.
I have purchased from Grabagun. It was also painless. Grabagun can be very competitive. I didn't mind paying them a bit more so I could fondle the toy in person. It was worth it to see it. That particular toy wasn't cheap. I didn't want to fight with the shipper or insurance if anything happened if I ordered it on line. He/They are nice folks and run a good business in my opinion. I wish they were closer to me, but that might be a bad thing. LOL

I've used them twice, and both times were a flawless transaction.

Bud's is great and very reputable. Heard great things about Kentucky GC too, but never used them. Grabagun also has good deals and great CS and is in Coppell and you can avoid the shipping and FFL fee and pick up there, but have to pay sales tax.
I often see great deals at these places, but on different firearms.

Between paying for shipping, getting a cashiers check, paying FFL.... Sounds like a lot of dang trouble to me to only be "saving" $80.

Ive used buds before and was very happy.
They also have the make an offer option, you may try that.
I would definitely not buy the insurance, the gun isn't yours till you take possession of it from the FFL, so there really is not perk to you buying the insurance.

If you use your CC then do not buy insurance. You are afforded protections from your CC company and Bud's is obligated to get your item to you without damage or loss.

Doesn't matter if you use a CC or not the gun is not yours till you take possession of it and do paperwork at the FFL, which is made abundantly clear on their site and buyers information. If it has a scratch the size of a eye lash you can say no I don't want this one. The insurance is a waste. Now once you accept it as yours its yours.

BTW...the insurance option is where they are making their money as most will gladly pay it! Odds of any loss are in their favor.

I've bought several from Bud's. Don't buy the insurance. Mail them the Cashier's Check, and most banks will do them for free for members. You just have to wait a few more days for the gun to ship but it saves you some money. Eurooptic is another good place to buy.

Has anyone tried the make an offer option? I did once last year. If I remember correctly it is the difference in the retail and the cash price.
