Went down to our property over the weekend to do a little work and we had huge numbers of ducks on the marsh. It seems like February-mid March we get more ducks than we do for a majority of the season. I wish we could trade November and first part of December for February/March.
Anyone else seeing the same thing?

I bet hunting pressure isn't a factor as to why they are there now vs hunting season.

Wish it was that simple. We were shooting 4-5 ducks total per hunt through Thanksgiving then by the time we get to January we are shooting 4-5 man limits regularly. It's private so we keep the pressure to a minimum, never hunt more than 1-2 times per week and it's hunted with pretty much the same frequency from Nov 1- Jan 31.

I was at the coast working last weekend and there were a lot more ducks than I expected. Redheads and pintails were everywhere. I didn't limit but I managed 5 birds.

Lets see . . . for more seasons than any of us have been alive, hunters have shot ducks till the end of Jan. and then stopped. Season after season after season after season. Think that might have some impact on migration timings? Nay, that's just crazzzzy talk.

Littledog, I could see that being a very real possibility but I would think the 100s of thousands of years of migratory patterns before hunters would have a larger effect than the relatively recent advent of modern hunters.
As far as the migratory patterns you referenced do you mean they would just start to come down in late February or I am just seeing them on the way back up north? I was actually thinking the El Nino which kept the north abnormally warm this year may have an affect as well.
